About ISST:

Institute of Social Studies Trust (ISST) is a 40 year old non-profit organization and was registered in 1980. ISST's overall aim is action led research for change with focus on work and well-being of the vulnerable communities from a gender perspective. It attempts to bridge the gaps between research, action and policy. ISST also has a community centre, the Saathi Youth Resource Centre located in Kalyanpuri Police Station, East Delhi. This centre is accessed by children from nearby slum communities mainly for free of cost support in education.

Project description:

The consultant will work with a team of researchers engaged in the Project- ‘Developing Curriculum on Women and Work’- for the period of Online transaction of the Curriculum. ISST has developed an online certificate course on ‘Women and Work: Making it Count’ specifically for development sector workers who are directly or indirectly engaging with issues of gender, development and livelihood in their professional work. It is spread over a period of 10 weeks with two classes per week. The course starts from September 24 and will end on December 11 2021. The course will be transacted through an online platform where live sessions will be blended with pre-recorded videos, films, reading materials and case studies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Handling all the back-end technical and IT related work for the Online running of Curriculum modules
  • Should be comfortable and swift with the online platforms- Zoom, Google Meets, Mentimeter, Padlets, Jam board etc.  
  • Should have knowledge of other apps which might be useful for iteration of courses on an online platform – making quizzes, getting groups together, doing role plays, any other…
  • Should be able to upload material as and when required and keep a close eye on queries
  • Assisting in emailing to participants for sending curriculum material
  • Assisting and coordinating with participants as well as faculty for curriculum and pedagogical material (Documenting the same)
  • Attending all Live sessions of the Curriculum module
  • Ensuring efficient transaction of online modules and responding alertly wherever support is required during Live sessions
  • To be in constant coordination with the team as well as faculty for any other support required, related to the online transaction of curriculum
  • To support the documentation of course transaction process, to be used for subsequent iterations

Qualifications & Experience:

Preferably some experience with the development sector in programmes based coordination and strong technical skills and know-how. Good communication skills are must. Some experience of executing a course through an online platform will be preferable.

The eligible candidate would also be expected to join immediately.


We are hiring for a period of 4 months beginning Sept 2021 to Dec 2021. This is a full time consultancy with adequate compensation depending on educational qualification and experience.
