Online Course on 'Facilitating Gender Transformative Evaluations' / Applications are now open

In May 2018, ISST launched an online course 'Facilitating Gender Transformative Evaluations', in which 20 evaluators and researchers from across the country participated with great enthusiasm. We are happy to announce that applications for the second round of the online course are now OPEN. The revised deadline for application is 10th December 2018. Application Link :

About the Course

Developed by a panel of eminent evaluators and mentors who have extensive experience of working on gender and evaluation globally, this is a free 10-week, beginner-intermediate level course. This course is aimed at early to mid-career development professionals, including practitioners, researchers, funders, trainers, evaluators and policy makers located in India, who are interested in learning how to conduct gender transformative evaluations. Participants will have a chance to interact and learn from the course conveners.

The course seeks to provide a contextually embedded understanding of what constitutes gender transformative evaluations, including why they are important and the role they play in engendering development polices and programmes. The course will introduce participants to the fields of both gender and evaluation, with modules on an array of evaluation approaches, including outcome mapping and utilization focused evaluations and gender transformative frameworks. Through examples and illustrations drawn from a range of domains such as education, livelihoods, health and using a variety of pedagogical tools such as webinars, videos, texts, group learning, the course aims to impart the necessary tools and skills on how to conduct gender transformative evaluations. This course is part of a programme on 'Capacity Building in Gender Transformative Evaluations' supported by Ford Foundation, New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Open to only Indian citizens living in India
  • Early to mid-career development or evaluation professionals, M&E personnel of government/NGOs, gender or evaluation researchers with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in any domain of development including health, education, livelihoods, etc.
  • Proficiency in English
  • Familiarity with using computers and the internet and have access to both for the entire duration of the course.
  • Participants must also be currently working or have recently worked on a development project or programme.
