Job background and profile

There is an increasing realization that adolescents particularly those belonging to the under privileged backgrounds although have strong aspirations for a better future, but often are unable to achieve them as they lack the needed support in the form of information, guidance, resources and opportunities. The adolescent girls are found to be more vulnerable as they have to additionally deal with predominant gender norms that may conflict with their future ambitions. For this reason, ISST in its second phase of the project 'An Enabling Environment for Realizing the Aspirations of Adolescent Girls' seek to combine its strength in research and community action to understand the aspirations of adolescent children, particularly the girls living in the slum settlements of Delhi and create a plan of intervention to support adolescent girls in their effort to meet their aspirations.

For the above mentioned project, ISST is looking for a 'Senior Project Associate'. Applications are invited only from women candidates. Please note the last date for application.

Senior Project Associate : (Last date for application : 7 July 2019)

The job will entail the following :

  • Mobilize the community for participation in the project
  • Facilitate regular meetings with community members
  • Coordinate, design and undertake trainings with adolescent girls and youth
  • Organize local events and meetings with adolescent girls and youth
  • Provide counselling to girls and youth
  • Write regular reflective process recordings and document the daily activities

Essential Criteria :

  • Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Humanities, Social Sciences or any other related streams
  • At least three years of previous direct work experience with youth and children
  • Sound knowledge and previous experience of counselling
  • Ability to facilitate group activities
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Excellent communication / interpersonal skills in English and Hindi
  • Demonstrated ability of documentation and report making

Desirable Criteria :

  • Ability to lead projects independently and complete work targets on time
  • A high interest in working directly with communities
  • Hardworking and committed

Compensation : Upto 5 lakh INR per annum CTC commensurate with qualification and relevant work experience.
